I need help with my vitamins!?
So i have been feeling a little tired and fatigued lately and have noticed that I have gained a considerable amount of weight. I went to the doctor to let him know about my chest pains and numbness, and he ran tests, said I was fine and suggested that I start losing weight because my problems were more than likely due to my obesity. Needless to say I have been a little depressed as well.
I have begun a bit of an exercise regimen, which right now just involves me utilizing the treadmill that has been collecting dust in my basement for some time now. It's really light walking because of the fact that I am so heavy I can't do anything too drastic, but it's a start.
I have begun taking vitamins as well, the problem is that there are soooo many, I don't really know what to take. I need something to give me energy and to boost my metabolism because I have an under active thyroid which is hell on my weight. I am currently taking a multivitamin and krill oil (fish oil pills repeat on me). People are telling all about B vitamins, and CoQ10, primrose oil, and acidophilus (I have digestion problems as well), as well as folic acid, vitamin C, and calcium. Should I be taking all of these? Are there some I should take over others? ANy help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

First of all, if you truly have an underactive thyroid make sure you’re taking your thyroid medicine. If you don’t have a prescription, ask your doctor for one. It makes a world of difference in a lot of ways.
Secondly, I don’t think you need all that extra crap. My doctor said to take an OTC prenatal vitamin every day and that will be just about what you need. If your’e starting to exercise after having not for a while, try a magnesium/zinc/calcium supplement to help with muscle development and prevent cramping.
As far as brand is concerned, my mom (who’s a pharmacist) said they’re all about the same. Generic is just as good as any name brand.
Good luck!

First of all, you need a big letter D, Discipline. Obesity a major risk factor for osteoarthritis which causes pressure on your joints most at femur (legs), hips and shoulder. These are the weight bearing joints so mostly these are the affected body parts. You may feel pain on those area, and fatigue. Taking too many vitamins would make you bloated. Classify fat soluble vitamin to water soluble vitamin and essential to non essential. Vitamin A D E K are fat soluble. If you are taking calcium, be sure you have enough vit. D or sunlight so that calcium will be absorbed by the bones. If not, if will be floating on your blood which makes you tiresome. There are many vit. B, vit. B9 is folid acid and yes you need vit.c so that it will absorbed by the body also. Vitamin c is acid so you should take it after meals. I would not recommended multivitamin. Vit b complex is a neurobion drug which is intended for those who are studying or post stroke patients etc. to provide better or more effective transfer of neurotransmitters or synapse in the brain. One side effect of this, you feel dizzy or sleepy. You are taking many vitamins, i suggest you research about them too one by one. Because each have different absorption requirement, one could be basic so you need something acidic for it to be dissolved, and the other one could be acidic which will make your stomach become more acidic and may result to ulcer, reflux disease or chest pain. It it better to eat 6 small light meals than 3 big ones. Avoid fatty foods, processed foods and salty foods. Salt retains water, makes you bloated and at risk for hypertension. Being obese is at risk for many diseases like atherosclerosis, or fat deposite in blood vessels which may lead to pulmonary embolism, heart attack or cerebro vascular accident or stroke. Have a regular exercise too. Be clean. Avoid smoking, alcohol and too much caffeine. Eat vegetables and fruits instead of taking too much vitamins. Lessen intake slowly until your body got used to it. Small frequent meals. Fat is digested 9hours, carbo 4 hours, protein 4 to 6 hours. Main source of energy is carbo. So if you want to get rid of your fats, minimize your carb intake. Discipline
