I need girl advice but if there's a guy out there that can help too…your advice is welcome?
I am 17 and my mom never did the motherly thing and inform me about taking care of myself. I have so many questions and I need an internet mama to help me :(
And so my many questions begin and a nice detailed answer is what I am looking for...and I'm looking for someone that can answer any of my future questions too.
I need advice...help on what to do to get and maintain healthy and soft skin. This also ties in with shaving. O.o How do you shave "correctly"? I mean how do I keep from getting razor burns or bumps? Speaking of bumps...how do I smooth down skin? Oh another shaving related question: Yah what should I shave with...soap, a special gel and how often should I shave? How do I choose a razor?
Another thing that I am completely unaware of is healthy nails. I heard somewhere that nail polish is bad for them. Is that true? How do I maintain healthy skin around my nails and keep my nails from cracking (not that they are....ok maybe a little)?
I'm 4 foot 9 and a 100 pounds. What weight should I be...to be considered healthy? And how do I work on building muscle (just a little...nothing tacky) and losing fat? I also want to shape up my booty. Lol. What sports should I get involved in? Like right now I'm into bicycle riding. How many times a week should I ride and for how long? I want to work hard without pushing my self past that limit....enough to help me get fit!
What should my diet be? I dislike chocolate....a lot. I'm weird like that. Lol. And I'm not so much for oily foods but sometimes I feel like my parents don't know what else to cook. What can I do and what kind of foods should I eat? What kind of vitamins and proteins should I be consuming? O.o Would that One Women's Daily pill work? I don't know if substitutes are best? How much water a day should I be drinking?
How do I take care of my face? What should I wash with and what should I look out for? Is it ok to wash my face with regular soap?
How do I get my hair to soften? To me, it feels like straw. And right now I'm using Suave shampoo and conditioner. What else can I use?
Please help me internet mama. I need to create a healthy lifestyle.
Wow. There's so much good advice! <3

1) You shave bottom to top on your legs and top to bottom on your private. I would suggest that you use skintimate shave gel its moisturizes and reduces razor burn.i would shave every time you start to get prickly again. I just do a quick shave every time i take a shower so i never have to worry about it. If you want smooth skin you need to get a moisturizing lotion and apply it once or twice a day.
2) Nail polish isn’t bad but nail polish remover does dry out your skin so try to avoid that. While you moisturize your legs you should moisturize your hands as well.
3) Your at a good weight your normal for 17 you should be in the 100′s. While working out don’t just focus on your but cause you have a lot of other muscles you should do cardio, legs, arms, stomach, and your butt. I would suggest sit ups and squats. Bicycle riding is good just ride as much as you can to make it more fun ask your friends to tag along. Start of small and Work your way up.
4) You should eat veges and fruits eat organic food. Don’t drink soda because the sugars aren’t good for you so replace soda with juice. At vitamin world they have vitamins specifically for teens go there and ask a worker about them get information ask him what he thinks is best. Your expose to drink up to 8 or 10 glasses of water a day. Water is very important in a diet so make sure you keep drinking it.
5) You need to get face wash regular soap will not clean as deep as a scrub. You should clean your face every morning and every night. Get face wash soon regular soap cannot be good for your face.
6) Suave is not a good shampoo i used to use it and it dried out my hair i would suggest either the pink sunsilk or tresemme anti breakage shampoo and conditioner. it works great.
If you have anymore questions im glad to help email me at lalatilson@yahoo.com

you can use conditioner and shampoo (head and shoulders, pantene work well)
use shaving cream and make sure your leg is thick with shaving cream otherwise ya get the bumps and dont shave too often cuz it just grows quicker and thicker

shaving- razor burns are way better if you put a shaving gel on your legs first, like skintimate, or you can buy the store brand if you want something cheaper. i really like venus divine razors. also make sure you shave slowly, especially around the ankles and knees, and you’ll be less likely to hurt yourself.
nails- nail polish is only bad if you leave it on too long, because your nails will start to turn yellow. it can also weaken them but you can buy special nail polish to make them strong. it’s also good to push back your cuticles…you don’t really need a tool, you can just push them back with your nails.
weight- that is seriously a fine weight! don’t worry about your body. but if you want to get fit, cardio like biking is really good, and just do it until your muscles get sore 3-4 times a week.
hair- wash your hair first in the shower and leave your conditioner in while you wash your body/shave to make it smoother. also use hot water to wash your hair but once you’re done, rinse it with really cold water. it closes up the pores and makes it smoother. wash your face after you get out of a hot shower too, because your pores are open and it’s easier to clean.
good luck :)

ok first off you should use nivea creame to smoothen your skin. it makes your skin very very very smooth i use it everyday cant live without it. its in a navy blue bottle. you should shave your legs with soap rub a lot of suap on your legs so that prevents the cuts and the blade dosent matter you can use any blade just make sure noone else uses it. make sure your legs are wet and then put a lot of soap on your legs and start from the botton and slide the blade up. this will take off all the hair but do it slowly and as time goes by youll learn and ull go faster. take your time. you can tell wen you should shave when you feel your legs and feel like the hair is growing. but dont shave when the hair is still short. shave when it a little longer. this takes about 2 weeks or less.about your nails. nail polish does not destroy them at all. fake nails/tips do. you dont need to polish your nails if you dont want to just always wash your hand and trim your nails with a nail clipper and clean under your nails. about your weight. your fine and your average to tone up your muscles go to the gym or buy a 5-10 pund dumbell (weights) and lift it up and down about 25-30 times a day each arm for about 4 to 5 times a week. also do sit ups and push ups. the bisycle is very good for butt and tigh mucsles. you should work on this for abour 20 – 30 minutes 5 times a week. for your diet. dont eat anything greasy or junk food. only have it sometimes like maybe one time a week. you should eat a lot of meat fish vegtables granola bars cereal and fruits. drink milk juice and water. dont drink soda its really bad. hope i helped =] my email is lesleyann_16@yahoo.com if you ever need help just email.

Use lotion. Opt for the kind that’s unscented (or very lightly so), with some SPF rating. Put it on in the morning, and before bed. Make sure you exfoliate (scrub) during showers to remove any dead skin cells. These two things will help with the soft skin.
When you shave, use shaving cream or shaving gel (they come in the same kind of can, and it doesn’t matter which one you get). Apply it liberally to where ever you’re shaving, and make sure you’re using warm water. You should never shave cold skin (the follicles close, and it’s generally more difficult/uncomfortable, and gives worse results). Shave against the grain, and rinse the blade every few strokes. As for razors themselves, you don’t need more than a couple blades and a moisturizer strip. Apply lotion to the shaved areas post-shower. And try to avoid shaving more than twice a week (these should be spaced out. Otherwise, you’ll get irritated).
If you have a healthy diet (or are taking vitamins), your nails should be in decent shape. Keep them trimmed and free of rough edges or breaks. Nail polish is okay every so often, but give your nails a rest inbetween color changes.
Biking is good. Jogging might also work for what you need. If you can bike to an from school every day, do so. A couple miles a day in a flat region should be a good starting point.
Go to foodnetwork.com, and find recipes. Not all food needs to be fried. Try baking or broiling. The key is to try a bunch of different things, and find out what works best for your abilities and situation. Generally, when you make everything from scratch, it’s pretty healthy.
And vitamins would be fine. You should drink as much water as you feel you need… just don’t drink too much (you’ll get sick) or too little (you’ll get dehydrated). Usually, you can tell when something’s not right.
You should wash your face with water (soap can be drying). Scrub with a wash cloth, as needed. Apply lotion after it air-dries.
Try not sticking to the same brand of shampoo and conditioner all the time. You might also have hard water, which could contribute to straw-like hair. There’s not too much you can do about this… except maybe find the most moisturizing products possible, and leaving in the conditioner for a while before rinsing (if you want, use leave-in conditioner too).
