I dyed my hair and now it's clumping out.. WHAT CAN I DO?

So i recently dyed my hair red but i got sick of it and after about 2 months decided to try taking it back to blonde.. it didn't really do anything, it made it somewhat lighter but it was still really brassy. So i got another kit about 2 weeks later and tried taking it a lighter shade... it still was very brassy/strawberry blonde. Everything was fine for the most part and i didn't shampoo that often and tried to condition it a ton because i knew it was unhealthy. Well then i just went on vacation (about a week after i dyed it again) and it was fine the whole time until i went to the pool and when i came back in and got a shower my hair kind of started smelling like i got a perm and when i started brushing it out after wards it just started coming out like A TON.. and now it hasn't stopped since. (which btw i didn't get my hair wet in the pool and it was a saltwater pool not chlorine.. im thinking maybe the mixture of the hairspray and texture spray i had in it from the day before mixed with the hot sun and did something)... Yesterday i bought and tired a "hair mayonnaise" that i found in the ethnic hair section but i assumed it would be good for my damaged hair. i don't really think it helped that much and now my hair's a weird texture.. So obviously i have definitely over processed my hair and i'm really scared bc so much is coming out, but what else can i do??? Vitamin pills, certain conditioning treatments (which if anyone knows a certain one that'd be great!!), homemade remedies??? ANYTHING would help!!!

  1. Vitamin B and biotin are very good, folic acid is also good. Eat plenty of eggs and things with protien because that is what you hair is made up of!

You have very damaged hair and im afraid it’s not going to be back to normal now, you’ve gone too far and it’s beyond repair. The only thing to do is go to the hairdressers and get as much of the length as you can possible handle cut off. All of the frizzy, fried bits have to go. Its horrble but hair grows!! Plus it will look alot healthier too.

Putting a semi or permenant brown is good because brown hair is easier to look after since there is more pigment in it. I did the same as you and dyed it brown a week after and it was much healthier. You may need to put a warm red/brown on first and thn a brown because it will fade to green!

Get any protien treatment you can….not cheap ones, go to the salon. Get Keratease or paul mitchell, label m by toni and guy, bed head by tigi, J pak etc. Get the one for the most damaged hair and leave it on wet- but towel dried until almost dry (pat dont rub) hair and wash off in the morning.

Eggs mixed with olive oil and massaged in is good- massage the scalp for 3 minutes at least per day even when you arent washing it.

No heat on the hair- no sun unless protected by heatspray. Try not washing it for a week to get the oils going.

And dont bleach you hair again!!

  2. hair dye isnt healthy for people if you use to much it can do some bad damage ie-hair lose, hair falling out
they dont stop making it but they should put a warning on. hair dye has lots of chemicals and you used alot

when you use hair dye it should be one every 3-4 months to get the chemicals fully out

    hope you feel better :(
