i bought african coco oil and i'm white. will it work?
i just bought 1 tub of ''african-american'' hair product, i'm white...and i put some in my hair and now people on the net are saying that it's not good for me...one product had petrolatum in it and now i'm scared it won't come out...i bought these products: african gold cocount oil hair conditioner...it's a jelly that becomes oily at finger touch...ingredients: petrolatum, coconut oil and fragrance.
second product: castor oil, ingredients: castor oil, mink oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin e, jojoba oil, paraffin oil, safflower oil, lanolin, cocoa butter, propylparaben and fragrance. this is also a jelly in a tub.
please help everyone!

A long time ago I put some kind of petro containing cocoa butter treatment on my hair and unfortunately it was very hard to get out. You are better off in the future to use something simple and natural like coconut oil that can be purchased at most health food stores. You can also use olive oil to condition your hair and neutral henna will also condition your hair nicely without coloring it. Note- if you have really curly hair henna can be kinda hard to completely rinse out.
The second product contains paraffin, which is a wax from crude petroleum. I would return it.

It will work, but it’s going to make your hair really greasy. I recommend you give that to an African American friend because it will probably cause too much build up on your scalp and will slow down hair growth.

It just washes out with shampoo. Those products sound too heavy for Caucasian hair. It’ll just look greasy.
