How would vitamin D deficiency increase the risk of bone fracture? Why could this be possible for rural children who drink fresh cow's milk, but unlikely for urban children who drink milk from the grocery store?

  1. If i read your question correctly, I think it’s because vitamin D which strengthens bones is not in fresh cow’s milk – when it is processed/pasteurized they (the milk processors) add all sorts of vitamins and who knows what else into it.
