How to select a safe combination of vitamins?

I would like to know on how to take different kinds of vitamins and omege-3 together safely
My list of supplement:
Salmon Omega-3
Lecithin E
Iron-Folic Plus Tab

Natural B Complex

Does anyone have any suggestions on what combinations are safe to take together?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

  1. And to actually answer your question (as opposed to the anti-supplement rants), all of those can be taken with food, but not in the same meal. Iron and Calcium ideally should be taken separately as they vie for absorption, plus Calcium doses should be spread throughout the day (no more than 600 mg of Calcium at a time as your body can’t absorb more than that) and you don’t want to take too much (1,000 mg daily is the RDA, but your doctor can tell you how much total to take). Follow the label recommendations on the rest and you’ll be fine… assuming you’re not taking any prescriptions or have any medical conditions (if you do, ask your doctor or pharmacist if there would be a problem taking any of these with your drug(s) or condition).

With that being said, you really should ask your doctor about the Iron. Most men don’t need extra Iron unless they are deficient (which is more rare than men than with women due to menstruation) and taking extra when you don’t need it can be toxic. The rest is perfectly fine together as stated above. Good luck and I hope I helped!

[edit]: Funny how Dave uses the logical fallacy based on my profession when he gives no citation or reasoning behind his rant. Along his lines of logic, I shouldn’t listen to a mechanic when I ask a question about a car because the mechanic just tells people to get expensive repairs that they probably don’t need. Dave, please get over yourself and quit harassing me.

  2. Unless vitamins have been prescribed by a doctor they are totally unnecessary.
Enough of a vitamin is enough. Taking extra does no extra good.
Some vitamins are water soluble so any excess in removed in the urine. Other vitamins in excess can be harmful. For example too much vitamin A in a pregnant woman can cause damage to the baby.

  3. There’s really no reason why you should take any of those unless they have been recommended by a medical doctor due to you having an unusually restricted diet.

Eat fruit and veg, people tend not to overdose on carrots, apples, pineapples etc.

Edit: Try to avoid taking advice from someone whose job it is to push unnecessary supplements.

  4. Good question, It seems like we all come up with this from time to time. Some things you can be tested for defiencies on, like Vitamin D.

Have you ever heard of muscle testing? Google it. It is a type of the "body knows". Muscle testing to me is a refection inward. It is a body/mind connection. It is very simple to learn and use. Sorry I am not that great on explaining it. It is homeopathic and natural. It is noninvasive. I hope this helps.Good luck and stay healthy.
