How to lower blood pressure?

I've noticed that my blood pressure has become pretty high, atleast it is for me. (It hovers around 139/90 and I've dealt with dull headaches and dizziness everyday for the past couple of weeks) Does anybody have tips or remedies that have work to lower blood pressure naturally. I would prefer not to get on meds at this point in my life unless totally necessary. Also, should I be worried about this because it's high but not tremendously high?

  1. My brother and I lowered ours by taking a liquid multivitamin antioxidant called Vemma. It stands for Vitamins, Essential Minerals, Mangosteen and Aloe Vera. It’s organic and all natural, plus helps prevents other health issues. Check it out and see if it works for you. They also have a cool money back guarantee.

  2. I would consult your dr about this…if thats not an option try a little exercise; I love an exercise called ttapp. maybe just a little walk. I’ve also heard good things about transdermal magnesium oil. I don’t have high blood pressure, but I use it for other purposes. Check out health-and-wisdom.com, if you decide to buy; it’s the cheapest online. Make sure you get transdermal mag oil rather than supplements…soaking in the oil in a foot bath or bath tub brings the mag levels needed to benefit you in about 2 or 3 weeks vs 12 to 18 months taking an oral supplement. It’s not really an oil, but looks and feels like water; just so you don’t get creeped out.

  3. Hello, i’m a hypertension sufferer and i found the most natural way to lower b/p is no salt. Throw out your salt shaker and don’t salt anything anymore. Also buy lower salt versions of foods you eat now such as soups, drinks, ect.. stay away from fast food period, and eat more fresh veggies and fruits. Also the number one way to lower b/p is weight loss. If you’ve packed on even a few extra pounds in the last few years that makes a difference. My b/p typically runs in the 140-160/80-95 and i take b/p meds. The meds aren’t as bad as you think, i was upset about having to take meds at first but they do help and will prolong your life in the long run. I recommend Hyzaar i take it and it works wonderfully without all the nasty side effects other b/p meds have. But seriously i noticed a 10pd weight loss and improvement of my b/p just by cutting out salt and quiting soda. Drinking only diet soda will lower your weight easily. So no salt, no reg soda, lose a few pounds and you should see a difference in a few weeks.Good Luck.

  4. eating a balanced diet and losing some weight will help
drinking tea for the diuretic effect may help as well too
really it depends on the reason for the high blood pressure
your reading is not all that bad.. they systolic is completely normal (top number)
but your diastolic is a little high … dont let it go on too long because untreated high blood pressure can lead to major problems later

  5. You numbers used to be considered normal, but you’re right, now they are actually considered a bit high. It is definitely best to decide this with you doc. The medications are not bad and can literally save your life. Here’s what you can do for yourself
    1) Limit sodium to 2 grms total in a 24 hour time period. Do throw out the salt shaker, and then add up the sodium you consume in everything else to make sure you don’t go over that 2 grams.
    2) Keep your weight down. Normal to a little below normal would help.
    3) If you smoke, QUIT NOW. It constricts the blood vessels, thus increasing pressure.
    4) Depending on how much fluid you consume in a day, you may want to reduce it.
    5) Cantelope is a natural diuretic…enjoy.
    6) De-stress your life.
    7) Keep your emotions in check. Remember, nothing that happens in your life is the actual end of the world. Go to a counselor if you need help in living a calm, peaceful life.
    8) Moderate exercise.
    9) If none of this is enough, take the medication, because high blood pressure is called the silent killer for a reason. You feel just fine and drop dead. And if you do start on the med, don’t stop it because you feel fine: remember, that’s when you drop dead. Good luck.

  6. A big cause of high BP is stress and anxiety. Any way you can lower those will help. Even identifying sources of stress will help. A cardiologist once told me that most of the heart conditions he treats are psychological.

Reduce sources of salt in your diet. Don’t eliminate it, but reduce it. Foods that come in cans and boxes are usually high in sodium.

Get plenty of sleep. 7-8 hours of quality sleep is generally accepted to be adequate for adults.

Keep your place clean. If your place is a sty, then you will be unconsciously stressed.

Don’t take calls after 8. These get your brain going and cause you to loose sleep.

Get a healthy dose of exercise daily. You know how much you need. Strengthen your heart and lower your pulse you can usually expect to lower your BP numbers.

Look at your family history. If your family all has high BP but has a generally healthy lifestyle, don’t worry too much. There is really nothing you can do, and you are probably as healthy as you are going to be. Be satisfied with that.
