How to get natural Vitamin D in the winter?


I feel that many Americans and Europeans lack Vitamin D due to hiding from the cold. Also, it is impossible, I heard, for the essential rays to be received in certain parts of the country in the winter, specifically north of Atlanta in America.

Is this true? So, even if I go outside for 40 mins a day in the winter it will be useless?

  1. Yes, that’s true. Going outside won’t be useless, but even in the summer, you only get about 400 IU of Vitamin D from going outside. That may not be enough. There are also foods that provide some Vitamin D as well like salmon (or any fatty fish) and some plants too.

  2. You only need to bare your forearms to the sun for 20 minutes a day and your D is topped up. I know we don’t get sun everyday so if you think you don’t get enough,take a D supplement. My partner’s body doesn’t absorb vitamin D and has been prescribed Calceos…………
