I didn’t know Vitamin prevented the flu, in all my medical studies I never heard of that, where did you get your information from ? Why don’t you just get your vaccination instead and, you’ll know you’ll be safe ? I did, like millions of others.

There is so much info about Vitamin D on TV, newspapers and online I’m not sure where the other person who answered is living.
Anyway! The general rule of thumb for adults is 5000iu of vitamin D3. also known as cholecalciferol, hormone from the sun etc. Take one per day. Look it up. I work in a drs office and he sells a various amount of supplements..and the vitamin d3 sells out every week! Can’t hurt

If Vitamin D actually prevented you from getting the flu, then why was Mexico one of the worst hit areas for H1N1? Vitamin D is made in your body after exposure to the sun. So in reality Mexicans or anywhere where the sun is out alot, these people should have ample Vitamin D in their body. Why do they get the flu then? Doesn’t make any sense.

mstess,
People who are darker skinned are prone to Vitamin D deficiency even if they live in areas with a lot of sunlight.
