How much Vitamin C do I need to fight colds?

The multivitamin I use contains 150% of the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of Vitamin C. Yet I still seem to get hanged down by constant cold and flu symptoms like a runny nose, congestion and a sore throat. Do I need more Vitamin C or what else could be done to improve immunity against cold viruses? Thanx in advance ;-)

  1. Take exercise and eat lots of fruit and veg. Don’t take any more vitamin C as high doses of vitamins (ie more than 100% RDA) have not been scientifically proven to be more beneficial than lower doses and may actually be harmful. It’s always better to consume your vitamins and minerals as part of your diet instead of a supplement.
