How much licorice root would you need to consume in order to significantly raise your blood pressure?
Just wondering, because I take 900 mg of licorice root gelcaps for ulcers and my blood pressure is fine...it has been proven medically to change your blood pressure, however.

There is no easy answer to this because the concentrations of the phytochemicals in the root are going to vary from one plant to the next and even from one part of the plant to the next.
An extract or a tincture might be more potent than eating the direct food. A freeze dried sample might be more potent as well because the removal of the water concentrates everything else.
