How many mcg's of biotin is enough?

My mom told me her dermatologist recommended she take 2500 mcg, but the only place that sell's that amount is GNC. I work at a beauty and drug store and we have 5000 mcg biotin vitamins. Which one's are ok to take? I'm 25 years old.

  1. He was probably saying at least 2500 mcg. I’ve never seen Biotin sold OTC in that dose before, but it’s probably sold in prescriptions at that sized dose. More than likely, the cheapest option would be a standard 5000 mcg (which is the same as 5 mg of Biotin), but you could easily get that cheaper than going to GNC for it, too. I can give a few options of where to find it much cheaper from a few other companies if you’d like, but it’s still probably only a dollar or two a month from GNC which is nowhere near as bad as a prescription. LOL!

The 5000 mcg of Biotin is perfectly safe for virtually any adult. Good call!
