how long till my petechia goes away after I start taking vitamin supplements? thankkk you!?

I had a vitamin deficieny which caused petechia (leaking capillaries on my legs which results in little red "freckley" dots all over the lower legs)
I'm now taking vitamin supplements..how long till the petechia go away do you think?? Thanks! I already feel better, more energetic from the vitamin supplements!

  1. Petechiae caused by a vitamin deficiency would still need the same healing time as any other bruise, at the very least. They are the result of small capillary bleeding beneath the skin, and the body would have to reabsorb that blood. Most bruises fade away within a few weeks, depending on how extensive they are. Did you have the diagnosis from a doctor, who prescribed the vitamin supplement? Or is this something you decided was wrong? The main reason for petechiae is actually a blood disorder, thrombocytopenia, where you lack platelets to do the clotting. In that case, vitamins would not help much and the petechiae would not go away. If you had a vitamin B deficiency, you would feel more energetic though, since that is one of the benefits of taking it. But you would also want to attend to your diet because the body is set up to absorb vitamins and minerals more readily from food sources than tablets. Tablets have a nasty habit of traveling through the system without dispensing the majority of their contents. So you want to take your supplement, but also eat a well balanced diet as well.
