how long does the stomache flu or flu take to kick in? and can vitamin c and echinacea prevent it?


i got sick last december and was sick up until about a month ago. so that was a very long time, and it has messed me up phsychologically, really bad. now i fear getting any kind of sickness. and yesterday at my work (i work at a senior center, food server) i over heard a few poeple talking about the flu. and right after work i ran to the store and bought some echinacea and vitamin c. and that was last night nov 9th at around 6. i have been drinking those emergen-c things and taking echinacea alot. do you think this will help prevent it? an how long does the flu take to kick in?

  1. Wow, did you go to a doctor about being sick that long? I would. Okay, so, the stomach flu, fortunately, shows up quite soon after exposure most times. Usually about 1 to 2 days after contact it would start to show up. The regular flu (stomach flu has no relation) takes longer to show up. Yes, vitamin C does help. I would take no more than 300 mg, though, if you are going to take it every day. Good luck!
