How long can you keep vitamin C creams?

I have this jar of vitamin c face cream(by avalon organics i think) that's been sitting in my drawer for about a year. I've used it like 2 times since buying it last year. There isn't an expiration date on it. Is it still safe to use?

  1. I heard you can keep them for a while! But they realy dont work! The best thing to do is to drink Propel Not gatorade. Porpel has lots of vitamn C and gatorade is filled with sugar. Try it

  2. The vitamin C derivative (magnesium ascorbyl phosphate) used in these products lasts at best 2 years.

It gradually goes off and the strength goes down. Nothing nasty is produced but it won’t be as effective.

Incidentally, Avalon products are a long way from being organic by any legislation in the world.
