How does exercise intensity affect heart rate and blood pressure?


when exercise intensity increases, heart rate and blood pressure increase too, but WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?

  1. Because the muscles are requesting more blood so the heart has to pump faster to provide the increased blood flow thus increasing BP and HR.

  2. First think of your heart and blood pressure as a cup. Of course the more exercise you do, the more the cup fills. If your working to hard, you reach you thresh hold. This can result in heart murmurs and of course heart attacks. On the other hand, if regularly use light exercise, this can lower your blood pressure and increase your heart rate. Remember constant light to moderate exercise is better than grueling heavy exercises once or twice a week.
