  1. 1) Your Mom is wrong. Ignore her
    2) The "other woman" is wrong. Ignore her too.
    3) Yes and no. "high blood pressure" is nonsense. Forget it.
But Cholesterol is not associated with the pressure you call BP – completely diff’rent subject.
If you’re obese, you might have a cholesterol problem, but if you’re not, again, forget it, and go live a happy life.

  2. obesity is one of the main contributors for high b.p. Because, bad cholesterol results in deposition of thin layer in the vessels of heart, arteries and veins, wherein heart functioning is affected due to constricted vessels, etc.,
Acupressure techniques & Natural Remedies cured many a no. of heart related health problems. Bad cholesterol, congenital holes , etc.

  3. They are different: Either one can be raised with the other normal.

Blood pressure keeps you alive – the pressure at which the heart is pushing blood through your body. However if the pressure is too high it can cause problems – eg heart disease & stroke.

Cholesterol is a type of fat that circulates in your blood and is used by cells throughout your body. It is essential for keeping you alive, however if your levels are too high (becase of a bad diet) it can cause you problems because it gets deposited in places it shouldn’t (like your arteries) and this can lead to heart disease for example.

So you can see that blood pressure does not cause high cholesterol, nor does high cholesterol cause high blood pressure. (Obesity does not necessarily mean one has high cholesterol by the way – there are many obese people with normal cholesterol and many thin people with high cholesterol.)

You will note that both raised blood pressure and raised cholesterol are bad for your heart and blood vessels so if you have both – its bad news (so I’m pleased that you don’t).

It is bad advice for anyone to tell you to ignore a problem because they will not be there when you are battling with the health complications that could happen – do not ignore your raised blood pressure. All you have to do is keep an eye on it and make changes to your habits like eating a healthy diet and exercise. Don’t smoke and don’t drink too much.

Guess what – these good habits lower Blood Pressure AND lower cholesterol.

Live healthily, get regular check-ups. Deal with problems when they arise (never ignore them) – then you have the best chance of living a healthy and happy life.

(Lots more information at the site below.)

  4. High cholesterol levels can cause an increase in plaque buildup on the inside of your arteries. Plaque consists of cholesterol and other debris that sticks to the walls damaging and narrowing the interior of the blood vessels. When blood vessels narrow, your heart has to pump harder to move blood from the heart to the rest of your body. When the heart pumps harder, blood pressure rises. As you age, blood vessels become stiffer and less flexible, which also increases blood pressure. High cholesterol levels can also increase constriction in the blood vessels.

Yes it’s possible to have increase blood pressure with just a normal level of cholesterol. There are a lot of causes of hypertension. Certain disease will caused them from increasing.
