  1. The Inuits had very unbalanced diets, and because of that they had a lot of health issues. A lot of nutrients are stored in animal organs such as the liver, and some were obtained that way. Natural selection did it’s thing and the indians who lived to reproduce were able to sustain their lives on the available diet.

The typical Inuit diet is high in protein and very high in fat – in their traditional diets, Inuit consumed an average of 75% of their daily energy intake from fat.[25] While it is not possible to cultivate plants for food in the Arctic, the Inuit have traditionally gathered those that are naturally available. Grasses, tubers, roots, stems, berries, and seaweed (kuanniq or edible seaweed) were collected and preserved depending on the season and the location

  2. i think they have pills and multi-vitamins. i’m not sure though :-s

  3. Raw liver has vitamin C. Meats & fats can provide all vitamins & minerals necessary, but it requires eating a lot of organ meats. Fiber is not really necessary when you eat foods that are almost completely assimilated.

Inuits didn’t have health issues til they adopted a western diet.

Journal of the American Medical Association: 1926

Lieb et al., 1926[23] conducted a case study of Dr. Vilhjalmur Stefansson, an anthropologist and explorer who lived with the Inuit eating a diet consisting almost entirely of meat, fish, and fat. A research team studied Stefansson’s health looking for signs that his "unusual" diet had adversely affected his health. The team was unable to find any health problems in Stefansson and noted that the Inuit themselves also were quite healthy. Note that Dr. Stefansson’s diet, like that of the Inuit, included substantial amounts of raw liver, an essential source of vitamin C for this diet.
