How can I reduce stress/blood pressure?
I am 52 years of age and have a blood pressure of 140/90. I have been under a great deal of stress and am looking for natural remedies to reduce my blood pressure or any anxiety I am facing lately.
Thanks in advance.

Here is a website I found that lists many natural ways of lowering your blood pressure. Most of them will actually help you lower your stress as well.

I use melatonin to get a good nights sleep. That has helped reduce my stress level. Maybe it will help you too and lower your BP.

Limit salt. seriously. If you have insurance try bio-feed back therapy. I have heard great things about it. Meditation. Get enough sleep—and this is paramount. Dump all energy drinks, pop. And also ride a bike or walk. If any of these fail take the pill prescribed—I do its runs in my family after 30 and that little cholesteral pill will save you so take that if needed. I might add the simpler you get your lifestyle, the less hassle of it all and include driving less in that.

To lower blood pressure you should relax, exercise, eat well, and reduse sodium. To help lower your stress levels get some fresh air, and do some thing alone and with friends.

First and foremost, limit caffeine and high sugared foods. Xanax is good for lowering blood pressure, but I place a lot of emphasis on exersizing. Also, try to look at the brighter side of things. There is always some dark to the good in things, but negative thinking and such will only make your exaggerated mind create irrational lies. Learn to find beauty in the nature around you and try to spend more time with family. Be more outgoing and let go of any tension or grudge that is causing the blood pressure to skyrocket. Remember – you are in control of your own choices. Make sure you have an adequate amount of sleep, and maintain a healthy sleep schedule.
Hope I helped!
