How can I lower my blood pressure?

I have to go to MEPS in 9 days and I just found that my systolic blood pressure is too high and might cause me to not be accepted into the military. I am 5'11" and 201 lbs and my blood pressure is 146/82. How can I get my systolic low enough (140 i believe) to make it through MEPS?

  1. You can get it by decreasing your weight, exercise regularly, walking, avoid sugar, and red meat, no more caffeinated drinks etc. Stay away from stress.

  2. Lose 10 pounds and no sodium (that includes beer). Exercise and destress. Get enough sleep. Take garlic pills.

  3. try taking L-Argnanine,(I know I misspelled that) it is a natural amino acid that balances the blood pressure. Take it twice daily. U can buy it at any herb or vitamin store like GNC.

  4. 2 tblspns of apple cider vinegar b4 everymeal for at least 2 wks

  5. try garlic , like garlic bread or better than that garlic pill ,they are natural so don’t worry about it !!

  6. Speak to your doctor?

  7. beta blocker but you need to get it of your doctor
and lowering your blood pressure can cause you to get dissy spells and get tried very early

  8. Potassium – bannanas, etc
Get diuretic, like Aqua-Ban. It will help.

  9. For blood pressure do these exercises everyday. You will see the benefits within days, as you can check BP yourself.Continue the exercise once a day, after you are better. You may be able to reduce/stop your medication over longer term, although the doctor will say you have be on medication for life. These exercises will help you very much in the military, to stay healthy and keep stress away.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
    Anulom Vilom –

then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then – close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
