How can I become a veggetarrian yet still get all of the vitamins and nutrients that a 14 year old girl needs?
I've been trying to convince my dad to letting me become a veggetarian for a while now, and im thinking that if I can show my dad that I know everything to eat & still have all the vitamins and everything that a normal 14 year old girl needs that he will let me, thanks . (:

I’ve been a vegetarian for 14 years, since I was 7 years old (I’m now 21). It’s all about eating a well-balanced diet, whether you’re eating a vegetarian diet, an omnivorous diet, an vegan diet—-whatever your diet is. Make sure you get nutrients daily from all the major food groups (I consider the "meat" category as the "protein" category), and you’ll be perfectly fine and healthy. Buy a good, comprehensive vegetarian book (or book/cookbook) so your dad can have some "real" proof, if you feel it will help. Even read it yourself; you can never have too much knowledge.
If you have more questions, visit a nutritionist—-make sure it’s one whom has studied vegetarianism, however, as many individuals (even nutritionists) believe that "humans were designed to be meat eaters and thus to not consume meat at atleast 2 meals per day is unhealthy". This, of course, is not true. I, myself, am a healthy vegetarian, and I know 2 other healthy vegetarians and 3 healthy vegans. All have been veg/vegan for many years, and are thriving healthy happy fit individuals. I’ve studied nutrition in university, and know what I’m doing is healthy. I know I’m not nutrient-deficient. You may not be university-age yet, of course, but many books at local bookstores are quite thorough and informative. Once again, you can never have too much knowledge.
Side note: if you are a vegetarian, you do not need supplements. However, this assumes that your diet is balanced. If your not eating a balanced diet, sure, you may need supplements. But that’s not BECAUSE you’re vegetarian. It’s because you may not be eating properly. A "omnivore" can eat a unbalanced diet too, you know, and need to take a vitamin. Just because someone is a meat-eater doesn’t mean he/she is automatically "healthy" nor automatically has a balanced diet.
Have a great day! =)

Real easy you can either ask a nutritionist ( you need to ask a nutritionist) what vitamin suppliments you can take or need to take in order for you to be a vegitarian.

you can’t. We are carnivores. Deal with it.

Any over the counter vitamins, lots of protein from nuts, smoothies, fake meat usually has some nutrititonal value. Make sure you are eating healthy- wheat bread, dairy, variety of fruits/veggies.

you can eat tofu, which has the same nutrients as meat, and eat like vitamin gummy bears. (you know what i mean…) :)

The best thing to do is to check it out with a dietitian first, they can provide you with the information you need plus a diet plan. They can even tell you if it’s a healthy choice for you or not.

Hey(: Im a 13 year old girl and i’ve been a veg for 4 years. It’s truely not that hard, as most people make you think it is. Every day, i take 2 multivitamins – a women’s daily and (im a nerd :3) gummy nemo vitamins, plus an iron pill. . And surprisingly, the fake meat actually contains some nutrition to it. Just be sure you eat enough fruits, nuts, && veggies. My doctor told me that as long as i take the vitamins, i’m good to go. And so should you. So, good luck! :)
