@elsupertaury75 Slash and Steven were never in Hollywood Rose. They only joined with Axl and Izzy after Guns N’ Roses were formed. Once Tracci and Gardner left THEN Slash and Steven joined Guns N’ Roses.
Appetite supposedly was all Axl, Izzy, Duff, Slash, and Steven’s creation. But I personally believe that the idea for alot of the songs had, at least instrumentally, come from Tracci. I say that because Slash has never done one song that sounds remotely like Appetite since. Tracci has.
@Vorail That’s what I’ve been saying,,,,, Slash and Steven weren’t in Hollywood Rose,,even if Slash wanted to play together with Axl for a while on Steven’s idea.
Axl and Izzy were the song writing engine of Guns and Roses. When those 2 stopped working together, there were no more Guns and Roses songs worth mentioning.
@1giblesp Better, Street Of Dreams, Madagascar, There Was A Time, Prostitute, Sorry, If The World, Riad And The Bedouins, Catcher In The Rye (That last verse in the outro is freaking amazing), Oh My God (great lyrical work.)???
Also, This I Love is one of the best Guns N’ Roses songs period. Especially live, fantastic.
guns n roses.. plain and simple.. axl is gnr!!! nobody could replace axl.. anyone can copy a guitar, bass or drum sound and style.. but the voice of the band is the signature to any band.. name one band (except ac/dc) who replaced their singer and where more successful than the original.. crue and van halen failed.. velvet revolver flopped after their 2nd album was rubbish.. i even met slash 3 weeks ago.. dont get me wrong.. i love ALL of gnr.. but the band would be nothing without W.A.R!!!
@tommyrockitroxx I think it wouldnt be anything without (sorry izzy, steven) Axl Slash Duff cause the UYI tour still rocked with matt and gilby , But songwriting izzy, People always say slash is gnr axl is gnr But stop saying that, And realize GNR IS FUCKING GNR!!!!!!
@fabio00099 What do you mean? Slash was a replacement for Tracci Guns of LA Guns. That’s comment knowledge. Slash only joined Guns N’ Roses because he wanted Axl to be the lead singer for his own band, Road Crew (the only members were Slash and Steven Adler.)
You have to remember, what your reading, is people’s point of view. Not facts, but memories. Memories can be distorted. A memory can change the color of a car, the shape of a room, it’s not 100% reliable.
@dlong6184 This song was just an experimental project. Chris Webber, West Arkeen, and a few other people were just experimenting with their guitars. It was never meant to be anything more.
@fabio00099 I mean, you can look it up. Tracci Guns, Ole Beich, Rob Gardner, Izzy Stradlin, and Axl Rose was the first line-up of Guns N’ Roses. Tracci left because he felt Axl would take the spotlight away from him. Rob Gardner left with him. Ole Beich quit because Izzy and Axl didn’t like him and had put an ad out in the newspaper for a new bassist. Duff answered that ad.
Had to edit that, got Beich and Gardner mixed up for a moment.
this kind of distortion doesnt sound like the guns sound i know….the bassist and drumming doesnt sound as locked either….so ima have to take the uploaders word….this is the original line up’s song right??
@fabio00099 It may have been, but it was the collaborative memories of not only members of Guns N’ Roses, but the members who had left, as well as the people around them at the time. When you have multiple people telling the same story it is more often then not closer to the truth than any one single story.
@DudeXMyster This song isn’t actually ‘Guns N’ Roses’ officially. Chris Webber, and West Arkeen (who was a behind the scenes member and song writer) were experimenting with their guitars, trying something new. They did this around the period that Guns N’ Roses first formed. They used a drum machine for this song, just like with all the demos of Appetite and the Rumbo Tapes demos.
This song was just an experiment. They never meant for it to ever become anything. That’s probably why fans love it.
Vorail you are a legend, it’s nice to get a version of the Guns track that is good enough quality to listen to rather than listening to either a crappy-ass staticfest or the Asphalt Ballet version. Though I’ve gotta say the solo on this track is utter balls, no soul whatsoever.
@MuzMuzMuz No problem. I do agree, no soul, but it is very technically proficient. It’s hard to find a cross between the two. Slash was full of feel but lacked that technical proficiency, but I think that the guitarists of the New Guns N’ Roses hit it on the head. Ashba, Fortus, and Thal all are the perfect blend between the two, you get a great sound out of them. Axl has a real eye for talent.
