For minor facial redness (mostly sun damage) what is the best treatment?

It's not rosacea. It's very very mildly red, my skin is very fair and thin. When I spent a year in Colorado (I've been back on the east coast for ... over a year and a half now) my cheeks got a bit red, moreso on the right side though. I'm 22. I have spent all my summers on the beach unfortunately (not that I would ever do differently), and I have tried vitamin E oil at night, also have tried Aveeno moisturizer for redness, which seemed to sting and had no positive effect whatsoever. Is there some kind of procedure out there, can I get zapped or something?
Now that I think of it lol, I should mention I have also tried a daily regimen of benzoyl peroxide and then after that I tried a daily regimen of salicylic acid leave-on goo. The clinique lady told me they would combat redness but to no avail it seems.
For moisturizer I use aveda tinted moisturizer with spf 15 but even that doesn't seem to cover up the redness. :-(
My father's a doctor, and he's never said anything. Lol my mom made fun of me once though in a photo. She said why does your face look so red? It seems to be worse in photos. :(
Mommyof2, which kind of Ogabi do you get?
I always have worn sunscreen, but if you live at the beach all summer you're going to get sun damage anyhow.

  1. Go get the line of products called Obagi. They are incredible. Your skin will look flawless. You might need to go to a doctor, as they are rx only. I get them on ebay cheaper.

  2. Go see your family doctor. Continued redness in the skin that does not fade needs to be looked at by a medical professional.
