your thoughts regarding all bread being terrible for you via high glycemic carbohydrates is incorrect, since whole grain/sprouted grain bread is NOT the same thing and is NOT made with the same ingredients as white bread. yes, they both contain wheat. however, whole wheat includes the germ in the breadmaking process, causing ruffage that seriously lowers the glycemic value of bread, meaning less fat on your body caused by rapid insulin spikes.. research more.

what about fat-free milk? izzat bad?
December 3rd, 2010 - 16:16
@jeffgreenback Oatmeal I like the steel cut variety by FAR the best and is acceptable around working out (its actually not white, its like a yellowish hue too!)
December 3rd, 2010 - 16:21
@samugrose Thanks for the comment, but I believe you oversimplify the argument a little bit ;). The glycemic load (NOT LOAD) is the important factor here and the minuscule amount of fibre (i.e. “ruffage”) will not significantly slow down the insulin spike. On top of that the MAIN problem is that it is nutritionally devoid. Name any vegetable and it’ll have more fibre and nutrients than any bread. Why eat something emptier? And this isn’t even addressing that sometimes insulin spikes can be good!
December 3rd, 2010 - 20:05
@OmarIsuf if you’re arguing that one ought to eat vegetables in place of bread, then the precious insulin spike disappears almost entirely, since vegetables do not elicit a significant stimulus for the production of insulin. also, the only oversimplifier in this situation was you. there are breads that are incredibly healthy AND nutrient rich- WITHOUT undergoing the process of enrichment (adding of vitamins). case in point: the twenty loaf from healthy way organics. go buy some at costco.

December 15th, 2010 - 21:23
Can you do a video on what whole grains should we eat or just explain it here? I mean it’s supposed to be the most eaten thing on the food pyramid so there has to be some intake of whole grains?
December 16th, 2010 - 01:40
@Flonne3173 Keto is a fad word, its but one method thats useful but not necessary for weight loss!
December 16th, 2010 - 01:41
@iwouldbeatthat Short answer: the food pyramid is fucked and paid for by lobbyist, no sane nutritionist recommends it, I don’t like whole grains because they aren’t effective for fat loss :)
