@madmax200769 “This is a kind of ad-hominem” It is not. When you name-call or belittle it is ad-hominem. Conflict of interests in research is an acknowledged issue. This is why they are published–acknowledges that the researcher may have a financial motive for a result. The tobacco industry published hundreds of studies in support of their products. Claimed for decades that strong ‘correlations’ did not prove a causal link. Such research has not been supported by independent research.

@dischordia23 I’m deadly serious. Prove your case
There’s no conclusive evidence of benefit. There’s no way to “prove” that these programs were responsible for any changes in trends. You might believe it but belief isn’t proof. This is a fundamental problem with issues of proof which affect not just cholesterol but cancer and many other diseases
Secondly read the entire post and refrain from posting portions which change the meaning what I said. Esp about not everyone at such orgs. being bad

@dischordia23 “Consensus among or doctors and scientists studying the field might be” – it also just as equally much might not be
You’ve hit on some of the fundamental philosophical problems of science and why falsifcation or deduction is such as useful tool. The alternative to skepticism is introducing collective belief which offers nothing to the process of determining truth
None of this of course has anything to do with the fact that you can’t produce “consensus” causal proof against eggs

@dischordia23 Sorry but you’re wrong. Ad hominem is Latin for “against the man”. It doesn’t nesc. have to invoke insults or belittlement
It means the man (or organisation) is attacked by way of logical refutation or rhetoric instead of the fact at issue. The contrary is “ad rem” (to the fact or to the point). Shifting the debate to the integrity of an organisation or person actually IS an ad hominem since you’re no longer acting ad rem. It’s not necessary since you can attack the facts alone

@dischordia23 – It’s 5am and I’m afraid I must sleep if only for the benefit of healthy cholesterol cycling. I don’t think I’ve made any progress at all here and after maybe 50 messages including a PM you’ve been able to offer nothing to support your orginal proposition
I think I’ve supported my stance both here and by PM
Hopefully you will watch all parts of the Kendrick BMA lecture and finish the Lustig one – also go on to find the answer to the more interesting question you asked. Good luck!

@madmax200769 “Ad hominem is Latin for “against the man”. It doesn’t nesc. have to invoke insults or belittlement” No I suggested that YOU specifically had engaged in name-calling–’troll’ ‘vegan activist,’ etc. You suggested that my mentioning studies being funded by the industry presents a possible conflict of interests as an “Ad Hominem” attack. Unlike your name-calling, It is not. Studies publish these possible conflicts BECAUSE they may be a valid consideration in assessing the study.

The cholesterol in eggs is used for hormones like testosterone…
October 8th, 2010 - 00:28
@FrosDOwnz and Cortisol… : )
October 8th, 2010 - 21:21
@corporacionmonstruo and 5-DHEA. A little bit of cortisol is good as it supports our immune system and is involved with learning and memory, but an excess just causes issues with learning and memory.

@FrosDOwnz and aldosterone. . .

Is this a response to Scooby!?
October 10th, 2010 - 11:36
@gameoverjoker LOL, Scooby wants no part of Underground Wellness…He would get lit up and look like a fool compared to Sean’s knowledge…But this video was uploaded in 2008, while Scooby’s video was uploaded like 3-4 months ago….
October 11th, 2010 - 23:41

This guy is really picky with what he eats…Holy shit v.v
October 18th, 2010 - 12:32
Actually this is very true! If you don’t eat the yolk then you are missing a key enzyme that allows you to break down the nutrients in the egg white! There for there is no reason to eat eggs at all, you can’t digest this protein properly! EAT the ENTIRE EGG!!
October 19th, 2010 - 20:58
@yoginirusso “a key enzyme” Which enzyme is this specifically?, and does it survive the cooking process?
October 20th, 2010 - 06:26
im having osteoporosis symptoms i hate raw eggs. can i cook the yolk and still get nutrients from it?
October 20th, 2010 - 10:06
Raw egg whites also contain an anti-nutrient called avidin. Avidin is a glycoprotein that binds to the B vitamin biotin, preventing its absorption. Biotin is necessary for fatty acid synthesis and the maintenance of blood sugar, and is especially important during pregnancy when biotin status declines. Biotin is in the yolk and it also contains the enzyme(can’t think of exact name) that converts avidin.
Basically when you cook the egg just lightly cook it, poaching or lightly frying them.
October 20th, 2010 - 10:10
So im not huge on eating raw eggs, you will get the benefits just don’t over cook!
The yolk has way more nutrients in it than the egg whites and to get all the great protein benefits from eggs then you need the yolk!!
for osteoporosis cook the eggs and make sure they are FREE-RANGE or ORGANIC!! or you won’t get the essential fatty acids that you really need!
October 20th, 2010 - 13:20
“Functional avidin is found only in raw eggs, as the biotin avidity of the protein is destroyed by cooking.”
So if you fully cook the egg, Avidin is denatured and doesn’t bind, and so is not an ‘anti-nutrient’ (plus you remove all risk of bacterial infection)
October 23rd, 2010 - 02:45
Eggs are good for you? Really? Tell that to the family’s who had to bury a loved one.
October 23rd, 2010 - 21:48
free range chickens are chickens without cages but still crowded into coops inside on hundreds of shelfs that can move maybe 10 feet a day. they are brought up worse then normal chickens.
October 24th, 2010 - 12:44
I just drank a egg yolk down, organice cage free egg. I threw away the whites. I want the meat of the egg. Today I am not eating any other animal food. I think eggs are phenomenal and they make you feel great and look great. RAW.
October 27th, 2010 - 19:59
@67bandit67 What does that mean? Is it a joke?
