Dry & flakey skin– which products do I use?

Hello!

So lately I have been dealing with my face drying out and getting really flakey when I wake up in the morning, and throughout the day.

I use Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask every other day, and also use the Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub every night before bed.
These products are wonderful, but I always end up waking up with very dry & flakey skin-- like a snowstorm has hit my face! :\

So today, I bought two new products-- both by Clean&Clear: Dual Action Moisturizer, and the Morning Burst Facial Cleanser.

(I knew that I needed a moisturizer to help keep my skin fresh and free of dryness.)

SO! The dual action moisturizer has salicylic acid in it, and it supposed to help moisturize the skin & prevent pimples.
The Morning Burst Facial Cleanser has "bursting beads" in it that burst with energy and vitamins (Vitamin C & Ginseng) that help nourish the skin and remove oils and dirts that build up over night.

What order should I use these products in to help prevent my dry & flakey skin?

Thanks SO much! :)

  1. Cody,

I know exactly how you feel. The best combination that has worked for me has been to wash with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and then apply Aveeno facial moisturizer. Compared to other cleansers, Cetaphil helps keep my face clean AND it doesn’t leave it flakey or dry after a wash. Then, to help keep the skin smooth and healthy, i apply Aveeno Moisturizer to give it a fresh, healthy look. Its the best combination i’ve found to date and has helped greatly with any acne problem.

  2. I’d say you the moisturizer at night and the facial cleanser in the morning.

You could also try putting small dabs of "Jergens ultra healing" lotion. I know my face dries out sometimes and I just put a little of that on it. Works great for the entire body.

  3. Honestly none of that stuff works. You are just wasting your money. Do yourself a favor and look up the benefits on clearing skin (and many others things) of apple cider vinegar. I have tried everything from topicals to proactiv to murad to face washes to herbal remedies, and acv is the only thing that truly helped.

I also wash my face every night with aveeno moisturizing bar. a good moisturizer that doesn’t clog the pores, and is unscented so it doesn’t irritate the skin even more is cetaphil moisturizing cream. a doctor actually recommended it, so that’s gotta tell you something. good luck.

  4. Nivea has a great line of products

  5. 1 Word. 1 Product. Best Results
    Dermaveen.
    (A cheap wonder-working moisturizer)

  6. just use put it on before bed and when you get up

  7. My skin WAS so dry on my face it was the same as you and i tried sooo many different Moisturizers and they either would work for little bit like few hours/ a day and my face was flaky again and then i found Clinique’s Moisturizer- It’s the bomb and thats what i think ya should go get and use.It is now up to $23 bux a bottle but it is worth it.A bottle usually lasts me a couple a months and thats putting it on everyday etc but i think you can get bigger bottles. If you have not tried it you really should b/c it truly does work.

  8. Please stop using harsh chemicals on your face neutrogena and clean clear are the worst thing you can put on your face is like putting clothes detergent on face no wonder your skin is so dry because your cleaning your natural oils of your face .I really recommend to use organic products like dermaE.com or go to aubrey organics .com they have good products for your face check it out.good luck
