Does taking a multi-vitamin like Centrum daily cause you to gain weight?

I've tried googling this & have found mixed answers. So does anyone here know if it does? Also I read an article that says that it isn't good to take one everyday. Also, does taking a multi-vitamin daily boost your energy?

Thank you!

  1. Sorry, it really does vary, because no two people are the same, and there is taking into account your personal health situation.

Some people respond to vitamins by gaining weight, which actually might be healthy for them. Others lose, others nothing. Centrum is actually not a good multi vitamin to take for many reasons. I would recommend GNC’s multi, which I have taken for years and love. Just my opinion.

And yes, generally multi-vitamins do increase energy, unless you are a energy drinker, then you won’t feel it.

For each person, their nutritional needs vary. I take two multis twice a day on top of other supplements – but then I am a serious weight lifter/body builder and my nutritional needs are far greater than other peoples. For your average person, twice a day is ok for a multi.

  2. A multivitamin will boost your energy level and will not cause you to gain any weight. A multivitamin is actually supposed to help you lose weight but I very much doubt whether that is actually true.
