  1. I think taking it off slowly is the way to go, too… having lost it quickly, gained it back quickly, lost it quickly, and gained it back quickly again. I don’t quite have the self control to stick to one piece of pizza like you do but I am working on it! Great tips, Paul. Thanks! I have been finding lately that one serving really is enough to satisfy me.

  2. This is an EXCELLENT tip and an awesome vlog! This is just how I feel about making adjustments to your food habits, and its whats been working for me. I think of it this way; If I can’t live the rest of my life happily doing it, Its not for me. :D thanks for sharing Paul!

  3. Ha, 4 hours a night! That made me laugh. :D

  4. a great tip I do this as well. I have 3 of my favourite pieces of dish ware, those are the things that I use. I will have to show you the plate I went from to the plate I went to. and the other things. Well done your doing an awesome Job Paul I hope you all the best, keep up the good work. Love Tina. aka ctrygirl555

  5. Great tips, Paul. I agree with you 100%! It’s a lifestyle change, and I know that I cannot go the rest of my life without goodies, but I can limit myself. Love it!

  6. I used to eat bowl after bowl of cereal too! I think it’s best to just eat the same foods. Just less of it. It’s the huge portion sizes that gets all of us into trouble. I don’t have a problem with my weight, but if I don’t watch my eating, a 5 pound weight gain can come up on me pretty fast. Every day is a struggle for me with food. Good video Paul :)

  7. 4 miles awesome:) You look good Paul!

  8. GREAT strategy Paul. It’s hard to hear that this phase is the easiest part of the journey and the maintaining is the most difficult. Especially since I couldn’t do the weight loss in the past. Thanks for the video.

  9. Hey Paul, I’m doing the exact same plan. I agree that maintaining is the hardest part. I have lost weight several times but gain it back. I agree with you that losing slowly is the best strategy. I also respect other paths but for myself I know I cannot be too strict. I laughed at your tip because it is so true and I too used to be a three bowl of cereal per night person. You are doing so well. Congrats!

  10. Great tips. So much easier said then done though. The reason I got fat is because I can’t stop eating. I feel like I’m a shark in a feeding frenzy, just eating what’s in front of me without even thinking about it. It’s a struggle so far but I’m trying.

  11. Hey Paul, great video :)

  12. @MyLossIsMyGain I agree it is NOT easy!!! You wrote, “just eating what’s in front of me without even thinking “. We need to think about it before we sit down. We need a simple plan like 1 bowl or 1 plate. I’m just trying to limit the amount of food in front of me…Just my thoughts. I hope it helps.

  13. @loriprettysimple Yes, the worst mistake with cereal for me was always having the milk and cereal with me at the table. It is just too easy to keep filling that bowl. Get your 1 bowl and immediately put the stuff away!!!

  14. @PunkieLynn Yes I agree…Someone who has lost and is maintaining just told me that on my blog and I was a little taken aback…I thought wow, for me losing is so hard, how will I ever maintain?? Unfortunately, the maintaining stage is a long ways away for me, so I will worry about that when I get there.

  15. @chicagocindybuddie Thanks Cindy for your continued support!!

  16. @sbasmaling Yep, I really believe weight loss is really all about our portions.

  17. @ctrygirl555 That’s it exactly Tina. I’m a simple guy and I need a simple plan.

  18. @FaFaNoFr Yep, I think of it as not just dieting, but changing my lifestyle!!

  19. @AmandaB4588 Amanda you wrote, “I have been finding lately that one serving really is enough to satisfy me.” I think this is great and real progress!!!!

  20. Your weight loss is a steady good healthy rate… You know what they say Paul slow and steady wins the race right :-) and I like the diet tip … Good job

  21. damn, if losing is the easy part then I’m screwed! lol
It’s a good tip, to moderate your portion sizes.

  22. simple rules work

  23. I agree with everything you have said in this vlog. Lifestyle, lifestyle, lifestyle is key!

  24. I think sticking to something you can do for the rest of your life is the best way to go otherwise you will lose a lot of weight then gain it back again. Losing loads of weight all in one go is not good, I think the recommended loss is 1-2lbs a week for a healthy weight loss.I am like you if I am on something too restrictive then I get bored and don’t enjoy it. Well done on the 17lbs so far.

  25. I’m with you. Doing the exact same thing. However, I am moving away from meat and dairy (very slowly). I need something that I can live with for the rest of my life and it is slower for me, but it is sticking.
