  13. Food cravings only occur with carbohydrates, in particular sugars. When we eat carbohydrates, the blood glucose levels “spike” some 45 minutes after eating. To correct high blood sugar levels, the body produces insulin. However, the body over reacts resulting in too low blood glucose. This is when we get food “cravings”. To prevent this, limit carbohydrates with a low carbohydrate diet. Use artificial sweeteners instead of sugar. Eat good quality proteins like meat, chicken and fish.

  15. I’ve known about the diet benefits of cinnamon for years and it has cut my sugar cravings down to where I can enjoy it in much smaller quantities. Anyone that has known me for a long time knows that I am a recovering candy junkie and saved by the oh so humble cinnamon.
btw, I take it in tablet form—it has much more than I would normally use in foods.
