I was at the store today and decided to start taking vitamins. I purchased B12 because it appeared to give you energy by aiding with digestion and metabolism. Is it beneficial to take B12 daily (I am not suffering anemia)? and is the concept I explained correct?

You need 2.5mcg of B12 a day.
So, if you don’t eat a lot seafood, meat or dairy, then yeah it’s beneficial to you.
Otherwise, it’s water soluable, and not going to hurt you. Up to 3000mcg a day is considered safe. Your body will store 2-5 years worth.
Vitamin B12 aids in the formation of red blood cells, DNA, and keeps your nerves healthy.
I have a vitamin B12 deficiency. I get injections of it every month, and I take a 1000mcg pill when I think about it. I didn’t have anemia, if you get enough folic acid, you won’t become anemic. I didn’t know until I started having nerve damage in my legs. Luckily B12 repairs it.
