Can you overdose on Vitamins?

I bought St. John's Wort 300mg for mood support, Valerian Root 450mg for promoting relaxation, Green Tea Extract 315mg for antioxidant support, essential multiple vitamins, & Fish Oil 1000mg for heart health. I want to take a Valerian Root (I never took one before) & I'm scared to take it because I already took all the Vitamins above. I took 2 Fish Oil Vitamins. Any advice?

  1. You won’t overdose on those supplements and vitamins at those doses.

Your stomach may burn from the multiple vitamin on top of everything else. It should be taken with food for proper absorption.

Your body will eliminate any excess of anything you took, and will also eliminate the product if it’s not taken according to directions, like the multvitamin.

  2. Those are not vitamins. They’re supplements.

Go to medline plus (use google to find it if necessary) and look up those supplements in the drugs and supplements section. It will tell you if you can OD on them.

FWIW, it is quite possible to OD on actual vitamin pills. Especially if they contain iron (which is not a vitamin either). But, you can even OD on things like vitamin A.

  3. Yes you can.
Having too much minerals in your body isn’t good for your health.
