Can vitamin C be absorbed in the skin as a topical?
Is there any real proof that vitamin c(or any vitamins or minerals or proteins(e.g. collagen)) are absorbed in the skin and the nutrients used by the body?
My question is concerned with the effectiveness of these lotions that make all these claims with the vitamins. I'm not sure if the body can unitize them(I thought it had to do it through digestion).
Any help or references would be greatly appreciated.

Skin evolved as a one way barrier. Very few things can be absorbed through the skin. (Hemorrhoids are not skin, they are erupted veins). If you want vitamins in your body you have to eat them.

I am not going through an entire list for you to try and make you understand it. Vitamin E is one, used as a wrinkle reducer and a skin shrink (cells) the Hemorrhoids are one example. Many items can be absorbed through the skin.
