Can taking vitamins actually GIVE you a sore throat?
I recently started taking Hair, Nail, and Skin vitamins. Ive been on them for about a day, but Ive noticed that my throat is somewhat swollen. Its not scratchy, but its very noticeable when I swallow.
Ive had this happen before when I start to drink a lot of orange juice or take other vitamins. And it goes away when I stop taking/drinking them.
Can vitamins actually give me a sore throat?

In general, no they shouldn’t. However, it’s possible that if it is a large tablet, it may have rubbed too hard against your throat to make it sore (which is less likely), it could be coincidence, or you could be allergic to one of the ingredients.
First and foremost, I would start with a process of elimination… stop taking it now and wait for the sore throat to go away. After it feels fine for a day or two, try taking it again. If your throat gets sore again, it’s very likely an allergic reaction.

i think it’s just a coincidence.

Depends, most likely you are using a product that has not been proven to help the body.
Stick to the required vitamins and you won’t have anything to worry about.
I take a Multivitamin capsule, Fish Oil, And Vitamin C.

Yes they can!!! When I was in high school my mother got these great tasting Vitamin C tablets and I ate those things like candy. Then I started getting these really bad sore throats. I stopped eating so many of them and it cleared up.
I also have been eating a ton of those Flinstones chewable vitamins and guess what? My throat hurts. So I am cutting back.

You might be allergic to one of the ingredients. Check the matrix, to see if it’s herbs or synthetics chemicals. Or try different brand.
