Can protein shakes, along with a dose of vitamins, be used as a meal substitute for all meals of the day?

Right now, Im using muscle milk light, because Im trying to lose weight as well as gain muscle. I was just curious, if I could drink protein shakes as meal supplements, along with a dose of my daily vitamins, since it suppresses my appetite really well and is only 195 calories per serving and would really bring my calorie intake down. Burn more than you take in? right? Any suggestions or tips would be highly appreciated.

  1. yeh it can like some wpi you can

  2. While it’s true that you have to take in less than you burn, you want to maintain a healthy intake. If you don’t, your body could go into "starvation mode" and not burn anything. A good website to play with and find out how many calories you burn on your own, how many calories you eat, and also to set a weight loss goal, is fitday.com. I’ve been using it for years now, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. You literally track everything you eat and all your activities. Then you can look at charts to see if you have burned more than you have put in. Also, you can set a weight loss goal and track how you’re doing. It will also tell you how many calories you can eat and how many you need to cut out, in order to reach your goal. It’s fabulous and it’s 100% free! I wish you the best!

  3. if your overweight then yes
but limit the time to weeks at a time

  4. yes

  5. that’s ok for 1 meal a day but you need a balance of nutrients, fiber, etc from real food for most of your daily calories.
