Can prenatal vitamins be used for other things?

My friend just recently bought prenatal vitamins for herself. She is not trying to get pregnant nor is she pregnant. I know that she has a low immune system. She told me that she read online that it would help her keep up with her vitamin intake and build her immune system. I don't want her taking things that she should not need to be taking. Can prenatal vitamins be used for this or are they just for pregnancy?

  1. Yup, they help your nails and hair grow like crazy.

  2. they usually just contain more folic acid and iron (and maybe calcium) than regular ones. No worries.

  3. prenatals are good for nail growth, hair growth, and for better skin. this is what most women take prenatal vitamins for when they’re not pregnant.

  4. yeah what everyone else said :)

  5. Yes they can be used for her purpose. They also make your hair fuller and prettier. Prenatal vitamins just have more iron and folic acid in them mainly. They are not a danger to her health unless she is taking other vitamins or supplements.
