Can just Vitamin C get you through a cold?

What I mean is like, if I don't take any cold medicine, but I take those daily Vitamin C pills, or the Vick's Vitamin C Orange Drops, which tastes good, and some OJ, will I get through my cold just as good?
To waqar khan, the website you posted redirected me to this insurance site: http://answers.0fees.net/ so that didn't really help me.

  1. Yes. The best way to get over a cold it to drink lots of fluids and take vitamins. Using over-the-counter cold medicine will just suppress your symptoms and probably make your cold last longer.

  2. Cold medicine doesn’t cure a cold. Medicine just alleviates the symptoms (stuffed nose, sore throat, etc.) There is no cure for a cold once you have one. The best thing you can do is eat healthily, drink lots of fluids, and get lots of rest. This will ensure that your immune system has plenty of energy to kill off the virus.
