Can I take Centrum vitamins and a Vitamin C tablet right before bedtime?
Note that I am a healthy man with a normal system. I know you are supposed to take these vitamins with a meal, but the only time I'm really home is in the morning and late at night. I don't eat breakfast, so that rules out taking them in the morning. I do, however, usually have a late night snack, and I'm wondering if taking these with my late night snack would be healthy, damaging, pointless, ok, or whatever. What do you think?

That is funny that you ask that question. I recently read an article in a medical journal about taking vitamins at night.
The theory was that they will stay in your system longer before you void them out. The thought being that most people don’t urinate until morning.

you can if you want, i think its better to take it in the morning so the vitamins help you thruout the day, but i dont think there is any harm in taking them at night, if i forget i take them when i get home.
ive heard taken calcium at night helps you sleep.

I think you should be okay. I have to do similar with my prescribed medicines… it is not ideal perhaps, but at least my body is getting the things it needs. Try not to take just as you are retiring. Try to do this as soon as you arrive home. Plus you could invest in a small pill box and load it each night and take it with your wallet, keys etc to have at morning tea time or lunch. This may be an option for you.
Cheers and best wishes

Sure you will be ok.Be sure to have something in your stomach. Vit C can cause some stomach irritation.

I take Centrum every single day after breakfast, its best t tale them in the morning after eating breakfats..It wont work that well if you take them at night before bedtime, it wont give you such a good effect if you take it so late at night. The point of taking it early in the morning is that during the whole day it does its effect.

I’ve heard that taking your vitamins gives you too much energy so you shouldn’t take them at night time. You can always carry them with you and take them with your lunch. I do think you should develop the habit of eating at least something small for breakfast and then take your vitamins. That will keep you like a "healthy man with a normal system" :)

As these are vitamins, and you obviously read the labels, I see no danger (or waste) in taking them at bedtime.
I would maybe wonder if there wasn’t even a MINUTE in your day where you could take the C, as I know that most vitamins – and I take the Centrum "high performance" formula myself – will already contain your rda of vitamin C/ascorbic acid.
Since they ARE vitamins – you’re not exactly trying to enhance your wakeful performance day by day or pill by pill, so it doesn’t much matter when you take them.
I feel differently about Gingko, St. John’s Wart, Ginseng, etc. These all claim to have some psychotropic effects – which I imagine are pretty darn pointless when you’re sleeping! ;)
I hope your late night snack is on the healthful side…? You sound like you take care of yourself, so I’m probably preaching to the choir. Just checking…!
