Can I eat this cereal for breakfast?


this is the ingredients WHOLE OAT FLOUR, WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, BROWN SUGAR, SUGAR, MALTODEXTRIN, MALTED BARLEY EXTRACT, MOLASSES, SODIUM BICARBONATE, SALT, CALCIUM CARBONATE, REDUCED IRON, SODIUM ASCORBATE, YELLOW 5, NIACINAMIDE*, ZINC OXIDE, BHT (A PRESERVATIVE), VITAMIN E ACETATE, VITAMIN A PALMITATE, YELLOW 6, THIAMIN MONONITRATE*, PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE*, RIBOFLAVIN*, FOLIC ACID*.

It's called Quaker Squares cereal.

  1. The first two ingredients are highly refined carbohydrates that turn to glucose (sugar) very quickly as you digest them. The next two ingredients are pure sugar. Maltodextrin is a kind of starch that turns to glucose (sugar) very quickly and is absorbed into your blood stream as fast as pure glucose. Malted barley extract is a fancy way of saying "maltose (sugar) derived from grain". The rest is salt and a few sprayed on vitamins that won’t do much of anything for your health. So basically, it’s a box of sugar. Have a couple eggs and bacon. Much better for you. Your body is built out of protein and fat, not sugar. Give it what it needs to be healthy and get off the sugar train.
