Can I donate blood if I have high blood pressure?

I have have high blood pressure but it is controlled by meds, Can I donate blood?
Blood Pressure, High
Acceptable as long as your blood pressure is below 180 systolic (first number) and below 100 diastolic (second number) at the time of donation. Medications for high blood pressure do not disqualify you from donating.
I got this off red cross web site thanks for helping me.

  12. No you cannot because of the meds.

  13. The pressure should not affect donating especially since it’s high, but the medications your are on or past illnesses could prevent donating.
