Can anorexia cause your skin to become transparent?
I am not exactly anorexic, but I have been unwell and struggling to eat, I have lost lots of weight and I am very thin, I am now rapidly noticing that my skin is transparent, to the point where the veins inside my mouth look varicose. I can see veins everywhere, especially the dark small red ones. I am also getting spider veins and spots on my skin. The flesh in my mouth has lost its elasticity and I can see visible bright red blood vessels travelling from my gums to my teeth. Is this to do with weight loss or vitamin deficiency or something else?
I have had bood tests last week which appeared normal including blood cultures. I feel weak and tired too and I am still getting panic attacks.
Also, my pulse has been fast and my body temperature fluctuates from normal to low.
I have seen more than one doctor and the most recent doctor sent me home telling me to have a holiday. He said there was nothing he could do for me, it COULD be because I've lost weight. But because my bloods were fine he wasn't worried. he again told me it was anxiety!

Sounds like an overactive thyroid. Probably is vitamin deficiency too. You should really get your doctor to do more tests than he’s done already.

I would definately see a doctor and explain your symptoms to him. You could also be anemic and that would make you feel tired and weak with little appetite.

It could be related to the lose of weight but you could also be dehydrated.. I suggest getting a second or third oppinion, try to eat balanced meals, and drink alot of water.. also if you like try taking a daily vitamin. hopefully you will get to filling better.
