By Request: Fitness Tips for Vintage Loving Gals!
I know I have posted two videos this week so far, but I was really inspired by a request I received and that darling photo at the end of this vid, to do a little'Vintage Fitness' video. The photo is by one of my new FAVORITE retro specializing photographers, Celeste Giuliano. People don't realize that the TYPE of workout you do,can make a difference in how well you look in your vintage outfits! So work that waistline, mama! To see the rest of Celeste's GREAT Portfolio of Pin Up Girls or, if you live in the Philly area and want to schedule a shoot, visit her myspace page: viewmorepics.myspace.com

a great show to watch to learn about eating whole foods and how they help your skin, hair, weight and sex drive is You Are What You Eat on the BBC. I started drinking home made fruit smoothies every day (no diary, no sugars) and my skin looks amazing, I’ve also lost weight cutting out diary, fats and processed foods.

What a chgarming video! I love all the old photos. I used to do pilates all the time and it really helped me keep my slim, but hourglass figure in shape! I really need to get into it again! lol

In addition to pilates for any gals out there looking to take off a little weight FAST try doing a simple, EASY jog (you should be able to hold a conversation but not so slow that you have enough breath to sing) for 20 min 3 times a week. It will do wonders for your health and is a lot easier to do because of the pace and time than you think. So get up and shake it chickie babes!

I saw one of those vibrating ribbon fat reducer machines at a thrift shop and was tempted to buy it and try it for a good laugh, but it was too expensive.

A great reminder to keep healthy! It’s so nice to see someone reminding others that processed and sugary foods are not good. Whole (especially organic) foods are the way to go! :) Far tastier, too!

Also don’t forget ROLLER SKATING! It’s a great workout and cute to boot. You can dress up and impress the neighborhood while you work out.
For those vintage dames who are more Rosie the Riverter than blushing belle, Roller Derby is not to be missed as an amazing workout with a definite vintage vibe.

Thanks Ashley…this is very timely for me. My friend and I are getting together for a team excercise/reducing effort. We both have 4 kids and I tell you, that is MURDER on the figure. I can watch this off and on now for inspiration. *hugs*

I agree! I did post a photo of Ginger on her roller skates but it’s kind of hard to tell what she’s doing. :) Roller skating is definitely a great option!

very cute..but 10 glassesof water???
October 4th, 2009 - 13:35
Nutritionists and the FDA recommend 8-10 glasses a day, on average. However, many nutritionists feel that a more accurate way to determine your own body’s needs is to take your body weight and divide it in half…that amount in oz is your individual needs. For instance, if a person weighs 150 lbs, they should be drinking 75 oz of water a day. For a person who is heavier, that number will naturally go up. So 10 glasses (or 80 oz) is a conservative average.

Also…at least if you’re an American…what we think of as ‘one glass’ is usually much bigger than 8 ounces. The ‘normal glasses’ in my kitchen are at least sixteen ounces. So ten glasses of water a day is not that much- a lot of the times, drinking 80 ounces of water a day is really more like five or six glasses! So you can do it!

Edward Runci. He’s my absolute favorite Pin up artist. His girls are very ‘Disney-esque’. :)
