Are cheap vitamins and suppliments any good?

I take a multi vitamin and several suppliments like B-12, Calcium, Ginko Biloba, etc. I buy them at BigLots for - a bottle, they are not expired. Some are the name brand Sundown which I have seen at other drug stores and some are the name brand SoundBody. I've compared the labels and they seem to equal the more expensive brands, but do they?

  1. You shouldn’t take ANY of that stuff, unless you are sickly. As in dying of something sickly. You should get your daily supply of nutrients from the wholesome food you are hopefully eating. I guess you are eating right, since you are downing all these vitamins, you seem concerned about your health, so that would only make sense. In that case your body is getting it’s daily allowance of nutrients and minerals. Vitamins are nothing but fads imposed on innocent health conscious people. In actuality, you are doing damage by taking extra supplements, you don’t have to take those, I know it seems odd to hear, but you get more than your daily allowance of vitamins and minerals just by eating a big bowl of cereal. I’d suggest you research the effects of too much iron, niacin, etc in the body, before I’d worry about whether or not to take name brand or generic vitamins ,because neither do you any good whatsoever.

  2. vitamins are not a substitute for a healthy diet

  3. I don’t Know. You need to be careful when mixing suppliments and vitamins. Ask the pharmasist. Also, ensure your doctor knows wat you are taking tell them every thing you are using.

  4. I know that some brands are higher in quality and so are better absorbed by your body.
