Hi, that’s very common; let them rest and repair for a day or so and then resume. As your abs get fitter, the soreness will get less and less.

can you do a video on how to tone the back of your arms the trouble area
August 12th, 2011 - 02:25
Hi, these exercises will most definitely help. Please stick with your new program and I promise you, you will see results. It will take a bit of time for you to see your ab muscles toned and your tummy flat because you have weight to lose, but it will happen. Just stick with your plan of cardio and ab workouts and you will get results. You don’t want to lose your weight too fast because that is a shock to your body and often leads to gaining weight back. Aim for losing 1-2 pounds a week.

Hi, thanks so much for your lovely compliment. First of all, please don’t stress out. Your fiance loves you just the way you are. You don’t want to have additional pressure right now in your life. You need to focus on your wedding and enjoying every moment. Make a plan and a promise to yourself that you are going to lose weight responsibly because you want to lose it for good, not just temporarily. You know I’m not an advocate for crash diets, but I recommend life changes.

It is very possible to lose anywhere from 15 to 30 pounds safely depending on how committed you are and how heavy you are. It would mean that you need to do a regular exercise program of cardio and toning your abs as well as eating a portion-controlled diet of healthy foods from all food groups. The important thing is you want to feel good and be healthy. Crash diets often leave you ill, tired and frustrated. I have many helpful and motivating videos to assist you with your new choice.

Hi, I would suggest that you do 40 minutes of cardio 4-5 times a week. That can be any combination of things that gets your heart pumping. Then you want to do some resistance training for your upper body (arms, chest and back) and your abs. Vary it up. Please see my arms toning video for some exercises to follow your cardio which will show you how to work out your arms with dumbbells to help tone and shape them and build strength. Next you’ll want to do at least 10 minutes of abs…..continued
August 15th, 2011 - 16:16
Followed by some spot toning leg exercises. Perhaps another 10-15 minutes there. Please see my leg exercises videos for tips. You can break it up if time is a factor. Perhaps do your cardio and then abs one day. Next time you exercise, do your cardio and upper body weights and then legs. It’s up to you. The cardio will help you burn calories and lose the excess fat and the resistance and toning exercises will help to build muscle and sculpt your body to look more shapely and proportioned.

How do I control food portions at a restaurant like Hometown Buffet? It’s hard when you have family gatherings at buffet restaurants and everyone is stuffing themselves and I’m eating like a salad.
September 23rd, 2011 - 23:14
Hi, I understand your concern. I love buffets too because there is so much variety, but it can be hard for anyone trying to watch their weight. My suggestion is to allow yourself one plate and fill it with something from each food group. You don’t have to just eat a salad. You can have a portion of your plate with salad, another with some type of meat or protein food, another portion of your plate with a pasta or rice. Pay special attention to how your tummy feels. What’s good about a buffet….
September 23rd, 2011 - 23:16
is that you get up periodically to get your food and you will be able to see if you tummy feels full. A tip so that you don’t overeat before you feel your tummy would be to eat at a slower pace because it takes time for the full feeling to register and you don’t want to have already down a ton of food. You can enjoy a buffet with slower eating and good selection.

Hi im a 25 year old female 5″2 120 lbs. No kids. Most of my life i was just naturally skinny eating whatever i want whenever i want and little by little as im getting older i see my metabolism slowing down and im starting to get a belly bulge so im going to try and eat healthy (already made a copy of your eat right bear chart) and i want too work out but am more looking to get toned than loose weight main area is my belly i want the flat belly i use to have…and that you have. Any tips???
October 27th, 2011 - 03:09
Hi, what you are describing is so common; as you get older your metabolism does naturally slow down, but you can halt that occurrence with exercise. Regular aerobic exercise will help you sustain a fast metabolism to help you burn fat and calories and yes, get your flat tummy back again. Try to do at least 30 minutes 4-5 times a week. You choose what you want to do, but it should be something that gets your heart rate up. To tone your tummy follow up your cardio with ab exercises.
